Bottom layer: Pour the pearls evenly onto the waxed paper on the bottom of the mold. Prepare the soap as usual, using just the quantities listed for the bottom layer. At a full trace (wait for definite trailings) add the poppy seeds and any desired essential oil. Gently and evenly pour the soap mixture on top of the tapioca pearls. Cover the soap and insulate for 3 hours before adding the top layer.

Top layer: Prepare the soap as usual, using just the quantities listed for the top layer. Time this layer to be poured as soon as the bottom layer has cured for 3 hours. At the trace, pour the soap mixture over the hardened bottom layer. Recover the tray and insulate for another 18 hours.

Cut finished bars immediately after the insulation period.
